What data we collect

We currently collect only the personal data needed to operate this website and the SharkAid development-update email list.

If you sign up to Follow the Build, we collect your email address.

Technical information may also be processed as necessary to deliver, secure and operate the website.

Development updates by email

If you sign up to receive SharkAid development updates, we use your email address to send occasional emails about product development, testing, on-snow results and related SharkAid updates.

The legal basis for this processing is your consent.

We use a double opt-in process. After signing up, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your subscription. Your subscription is only completed once you confirm it.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in our emails or by contacting us at info@sharkaid.co.

Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Providing your email address is voluntary. If you do not provide it, you simply will not receive SharkAid development updates.

MailerLite

We use MailerLite to manage our subscriber list and send development-update emails.

When you subscribe, your email address is processed by MailerLite on our behalf. We act as the data controller and MailerLite acts as a data processor. MailerLite uses subprocessors to provide its service and may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where required, MailerLite states that appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses, are used for such transfers. MailerLite

Website hosting and Framer

This website is built and hosted using Framer.

Where Framer processes personal data on our behalf in connection with operation of the website, we act as the data controller and Framer acts as a data processor. Framer’s Data Processing Addendum defines this controller-processor relationship. Framer

More information is available in Framer’s Privacy Statement:

Analytics and cookies

We currently do not use third-party advertising, behavioural tracking or third-party analytics tools such as Google Analytics.

Framer provides built-in website analytics. Framer states that these analytics do not use cookies or persistent identifiers and do not collect information that identifies individual visitors. Framer

We therefore do not currently use a cookie-consent banner.

If we later add third-party services that use non-essential cookies or similar technologies, we will update this Privacy Policy and introduce appropriate consent controls where required. Framer

How long we keep your data

We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed to SharkAid development updates.

If you unsubscribe, we stop using your email address to send development updates. Limited information may still be retained where necessary to comply with legal obligations or to ensure that your unsubscribe request continues to be respected.

Who receives your data

We only share personal data where necessary to operate the SharkAid website and email communications, or where required by law.

Our current service providers relevant to this website are:

Framer — website hosting and operation
MailerLite — subscriber management and email delivery

We do not sell your personal data.

Your rights

Under applicable data-protection law, you may have the right to:

  • request access to your personal data;

  • request correction of inaccurate personal data;

  • request deletion of your personal data;

  • request restriction of processing;

  • object to certain processing;

Automated decision-making

We do not currently use automated decision-making or profiling in connection with the SharkAid website or development-update email list.
